Group of models of the "FED" family with an exposure meter

The main unifying feature of the models of this group is the selenium exposure meter. All models, except for the FED-Atlas family, are completely mechanical, that is, shutter speed and aperture are set manually.

FED-4

In 1964, the serial production of the FED-4 model was started. Distinctive features of the cameras of this model:

  • built-in selenium exposure meter
  • disc control of film rewind.

It is a small format rangefinder camera of a rigid design with a removable rear wall. The presence of a built-in exposure meter has led to an increase in dimensions. Curtain-slotted gate fulfills shutter speeds from 1 to 1/500 s and “B”. Platoon shutter and transport of the film are interlocked. The film rewind drive disk is located at the end of the case. Focusing is done using a rangefinder combined with an optical viewfinder. There is a diopter adjustment, a socket for a cable connection of a flash lamp and a self-timer. In the practice of collecting, there are cameras with housings pasted over with leatherette or pressed “under shagreen leather”.

Camera numbering is coded. For the period from 1964 to 1980. produced about 498 copies.
