Group of models of the "FED" family without exposure meter

FED-2

The first developments of this model date back to 1940. After a long break associated with the war of 1941-1945. and the post-war restoration of the national economy, in 1950 the first prototypes of the FED-2 model were made. After minor engineering and design improvements, serial production began in 1952. All cameras of this model are small-format rangefinder with a frame format of 24 × 36 mm. The flat, rigid metal case has a removable back panel. Cloth curtain-slit gate fulfills shutter speeds from 1/25 to 1/500 s and "B". Platoon shutter and transportation of the film is interlocked and carried out by rotating a special head (the last release cameras have a trigger platoon). Focusing is carried out using an optical rangefinder with an increased base. There is a diopter adjustment. At various times, the cases were either pasted over with black leatherette, or covered with artificial rubber of various colors (black, green, blue, burgundy, light gray).

Cameras were equipped with one of 3 main lenses: "FED" ("Industar-10") 3,5 / 50 mm, "Industar-26m" 2,8 / 50 mm, and "Industar-61" 2,8 / 52 mm. In the practice of collecting, there are cameras without a self-timer, with a self-timer, without a sync contact and with a sync contact. Until 1959, the numbering of the cameras was sequential, and since 1959 it was coded. The numbers are located on the back of the top cover. For the period from 1955 to 1970. produced about 1 copies.
