The Canon VL used the silver-plated viewfinder prisms that were tried out in the later VT Deluxe versions. Silver plating has proven to give a better and brighter viewfinder picture than gold plating. Canon VL is sometimes confused with VTDM, the difference from which is the presence of a film rewind lever instead of specifying the ISO values in the same place.
It was priced at 89000 yen with a 50mm f1.2 lens.
